Despite being a huge Ghostbusters fan (I literally grew up watching The Real Ghostbusters cartoon), I had zero interest in watching Ghostbusters: Afterlife when it releases later this year. The late Harold Ramis (Egon Spengler) was always my favourite Ghostbuster and since he’s not going to be in it, I didn’t really care much about the movie. Well…that might have changed a bit now with the introduction of the Mini-Pufts.
Yup, haunted marshmallow things are the reason I’m going to watch a movie. Take a look at the teaser below and you’ll be sold on the little buggers too!
The Stay-Puft Marshmallow Man from the original movie was one of the most memorable things about it and it’s great that mini versions of the character will be back in Ghostbusters: Afterlife, even if it’s just for a couple of throwaway scenes.
Come on…even I know that Stay-Puft won’t be the main baddie! Hell now that I think about it, I don’t even know who is! Gozer? Vigo the Carpathian? Slimer?!
That doesn’t matter right now…all that matters is that I’m in love with the Mini-Pufts!
I mean, just take a look at the buggers!
That damnable smile! The pudgy round body! That disregard for self!
Screw the Minions from Despicable Me, these guys are what we all should be focused on! I’d watch a horror movie about the Mini-Pufts any time! All hail the Mini-Pufts, our future squishy, edible overlords!
Ghostbusters: Afterlife is slated to be released in Fall 2021, which means the period from September to December.
Hopefully it’ll defy my expectations (though I have a feeling that it won’t) and actually be something that’s worth watching!
