Fun fact: The original Alien movie came out on 31 October (Halloween!) 1979, and 2019 marks the series’ 40th anniversary. Yeah, I didn’t realize 1979 is that far back too!
To commemorate this, Fox has planned (with a ton of teasing) a slew of Alien related stuff coming out this year, most of them under wraps.
So far, we’ve already seen the release of Alien: Blackout on Android and iOS late last month. We’ve also seen Alien: Resistance, the Dark Horse produced comic that has Amanda Ripley and Zula Hendricks team up to try to take down Weyland Yutani.
We know we’re probably going to be seeing some Alien short stories later this year but before then, it seems like Fox is treating us to more Alien goodness in the form of the Alien: Isolation Digital Series.
Now, before you get too excited, the digital series is a summary of the game. Yup, not a sequel but a bit of an expansion. It’s basically all of the cutscenes in the game tied together alongside ‘new story beats’. We’re unsure whether that means new material or just the gameplay sections that are in between cutscenes cut to resemble a movie.
Either way, we’re going to find out real soon.
Alien: Isolation’s digital series comes out tomorrow, with all 7 episodes available exclusively on IGN and its Youtube channel.
