ZOWIE Asia Extremesland Counterstrike Asia Open 2024 Day 2: The Battle To Survive Elimination is a very apt title for this post methinks. Partly because I’m lazy to come out with another one and partly because I like it. Cringe? Perhaps. Corny? Maybe. Perfect? Undubitably.
It’s also quite lengthy, which I like too. Yes, I tend to ramble on. Why do you ask?
Just kidding!
If you’ve not been following my reporting of the event (why?), you can read the first part of it here, which details Day 0 and Day 1 of the ZOWIE Asia Extremesland Counterstrike Asia Open 2024.
Of course, it’d be very remiss of me not to mention that I’m here thanks to ZOWIE Asia, Emerge Group and DIFY Singapore! Thanks again!
Ok, so today is the day of reckoning for the losers from the first day.
Hmm…losers might be too harsh a moniker.
Those who were relegated to the lower bracket sounds much better yeah? Ok, so those who were relegated (8 of them from yesterday), had to meet up with their compatriots and duke it out for the privilege to proceed to the next round.
Unfortunately…brace yourselves Singaporeans. dream[S]cape did not pull through.
In fact, they were the first team sent packing.
It was an insanely close match though! The team held the lead decisively in the first (out of three match) but a rallying Gods Reign came back strong to win the second bout.
It looked like it was all over for dream[S]cape in the final round, but they managed to go up to 10 games won(13 is needed to win the match), taking the lead for a while before faltering under the unrelenting assault of from the Gods Reign team.
It’s a massive disappointment to see the Singaporean team out this early…but at least we can take solace in the fact that they rallied after getting trounced pretty badly in the second round. With some more tournament experience (and toughening up of their mental endurance), we might see them finally achieve their true potential in future fights.
Speaking of fights, here are the full outcomes for the teams competing today.
As always, the first name of the pair are the winners, with the scores similarly ordered as well.
Gods Reign vs dream[S]cape

8 – 13
13 – 4
13 – 10
Blaze Warriors vs FATED RISE

1 – 13
13 – 6
16 – 12
SemperFi vs Oni CLAN

13 – 8
4 – 13
13 – 6
Nalakuvara vs Miracle Play

13 – 8
13 – 9
Winners of the fights will meet up with the victors from the Winners’ Bracket matches that’s going to be held tomorrow.
Before that though, do you want to watch the Day 2 matches?
I got you fam.
Make sure to catch the rest of the days on ZOWIE e-Sports APAC’s Youtube channel!
That’s it for me.
I’ll be back tomorrow…but with a surprise!
It’s a cool one, I promise!
