The reign of Electronic Arts (EA) ruling over Star Wars games officially came to an end recently. That revelation has opened up the possibilities of future Star Wars projects from other publishers and developers.
As of now, we officially only know LucasFilm Games has greenlit Ubisoft and Massive Entertainment into working on a new Star Wars game. However, there are rumours that there are a lot more planned projects in the background. And one such project is none other than Knights of the Republic (Kotor).

The Kotor series is probably the best Star Wars games out there right now and the best RPGs on most gamers’ list. Even the ports to mobile devices are doing quite well to bring the nostalgia back to the fans. Yes…I did crack and ended up buying them too, but it’s Kotor! Can you blame me?
There isn’t any official word that the project is going through, but according to VGC, the rumours are credible. If the reports are to get believed, it will be a brand new Kotor game and not a remake; thank god! It will also not get developed by Bioware or EA, the original team that made the first game.
If that is true, I wonder who LucasFilm Games is planning to choose to make the game a reality. If I were to guess, I think it could be Square Enix. They did a pretty good job with Final Fantasy 7 Remake as an RPG, so it is possible.

As for the characters and settings of the game, there’s no information on it. But if I were to bet, it would probably be about Revan again due to his popularity among fans, or it could be about the High Republic era that recently introduced into the canon.
All in all, hopefully, we get more concrete reveals from LucasFilm Games down the line. And please let it be the Revan!
