Laundry is one of those chores that never really goes away. There are always different fabrics, different stains, different load sizes and, somehow, never quite enough detergent left when you need it. Samsung’s latest Bespoke AI Laundry Combo range is designed to make that whole process a little less manual, using AI-powered wash cycles, automatic detergent management and SmartThings connectivity to help homeowners wash more efficiently.
The new range arrives in Singapore with two washer-dryer combo models: the flagship Bespoke AI Washer Dryer EcoBubble 21kg + 11kg (WD90F21BCSSP), available now at S$3,299, and the Bespoke AI Washer Dryer Combo 11kg + 7kg (WD90H11C4WSP), arriving in early October for S$2,149. The smaller model is also Samsung’s first white Bespoke AI Laundry Combo to feature its AI Home Smart Screen.
AI Wash+ Gets Smarter About Fabrics.
The headline feature here is AI Wash+, which uses sensors to assess load weight, soil levels and fabric types before automatically adjusting water, detergent and wash time. Samsung says the system can recognise five types of fabric—cotton, delicates, towels, denim and outdoor wear—on loads of up to 2kg.
That is useful because a load of gym clothes, denim and towels should not necessarily be treated the same way as a pile of cotton tees. Rather than asking users to manually choose every setting, AI Wash+ attempts to make decisions based on what is actually in the drum. It also continues monitoring soil levels during the cycle, adjusting detergent and wash duration if needed.
The caveat, as always with fabric-recognition systems, is that mixed loads can affect detection accuracy. Still, for users who mostly want to throw laundry in and press start, it is a welcome step towards less guesswork.
Less Time Measuring Detergent.
Samsung has also included Flex Auto Dispense, an automated detergent system that can be configured for two different detergents or increased detergent capacity. The reservoir can hold detergent and fabric softener for up to 12 loads, or up to 30 loads if you use it for detergent alone.
That may not sound glamorous, but it is one of the more practical features in the entire machine. Not having to measure detergent every wash is one less thing to think about, and automatic dispensing can help avoid the classic problem of overdoing it and ending up with a rinse cycle that feels like it will never end.
A Laundry Machine With a Screen.
The 11kg + 7kg WD90H11C4WSP introduces a 7-inch AI Home Smart Screen in a white Bespoke AI Laundry Combo. It works as the machine’s main control hub, offering touchscreen access to cycles and settings while learning usage habits, suggesting programmes and showing relevant information.
The screen also ties into SmartThings, allowing users to see laundry reports after a cycle, including energy and water-consumption insights. It is the sort of feature that sounds a little extra until you realise how often you are squinting at tiny labels, rotating a dial and hoping you selected the right cycle.
Samsung’s upgraded Bixby voice assistant is also on hand for those who prefer talking to appliances. Users can ask Bixby to start a preferred cycle, add an extra rinse, check remaining time or explain something displayed on screen. Whether you will actually talk to your washing machine is another question, but being able to add an extra rinse without stopping what you are doing is genuinely handy.
SmartThings Takes on Energy Use.
The other major selling point is energy management. Through SmartThings Energy, users can view daily, weekly and monthly consumption figures, along with estimated electricity costs. The platform also supports AI Energy Mode on compatible cycles.
Samsung says AI Energy Mode can reduce energy use by up to 60% by using AI Ecobubble technology to wash at lower temperatures and extend the cycle when necessary. As with any energy-saving claim, real-world results will depend heavily on the selected programme, load size, fabric type and individual usage habits. Still, the ability to monitor washing habits and see estimated costs makes the feature more useful than a generic “Eco” label on a dial.

Samsung’s new Bespoke AI Laundry Combo range is clearly targeted at busy households that want a washer-dryer to do more than simply spin clothes around. The large 21kg + 11kg model is designed for families dealing with serious laundry volumes, while the smaller white 11kg + 7kg version offers a more approachable option for users who want the AI Home screen and connected features without dedicating half the home to a single appliance.
Whether AI can truly make laundry enjoyable is still up for debate. But if it can reduce detergent overpouring, help preserve different fabrics, track energy use and stop you from repeatedly checking how many minutes are left, that is already a pretty good start.
