DJI’s Mic Mini 2S takes the original Mini formula—small, light and easy to clip on—and bolts on the one feature that instantly turns it from “nice accessory” into “must-have”: 32-bit float internal recording. It’s still a 12g square stuck to your shirt, but now it quietly runs its own backup recorder, cleans up noise with AI, and can handle up to four people in one go.
What is the DJI Mic Mini 2S?
Mic Mini 2S is DJI’s first mini wireless mic in the series with internal recording. It builds directly on the recent Mic Mini 2, adding 32-bit float onboard storage, upgraded AI noise canceling and 4TX + 1RX support, while keeping the same ultra-compact footprint and clip or magnetic mounting.
It is aimed at creators who want to capture dialogue reliably in unpredictable environments: street interviews, events, walk-and-talk vlogs, small panels and quick social content shoots—without carrying around larger belt-pack systems or stressing over a dodgy wireless link ruining the take.
Design & Build – Ultra-Compact, Ultra-Capable.
Each Mic Mini 2S transmitter weighs about 12g. That is light enough to disappear on a shirt placket or dress collar without dragging fabric down, while the clip and magnetic mounting options make placement very simple.
DJI also leans into customisation. The magnetic front cover is removable, with eight colourful options sold separately if you want the mic to match an outfit rather than look like a default black square. There is also a Time Series Magnetic Front Cover collection designed with illustrator Victo Ngai, adding a little personality to what is otherwise very functional creator gear.
Despite the tiny footprint, each transmitter packs approximately 14.5GB of internal storage and enough battery for a proper shoot day. This is clearly made to be always-in-the-bag gear rather than something you only unpack for big productions.
Audio & Features – True Sound, Secured Capture.
The headline feature is 32-bit float internal recording. Each transmitter can record up to 28 hours of audio in 24-bit mode, while 32-bit float gives creators more flexibility when handling unexpected changes in volume during post-production.
In real-world terms, you can let the wireless system feed your camera or phone as usual while the transmitter quietly creates its own backup. If camera levels are wrong, the signal drops out, or someone suddenly gets very enthusiastic into the mic, you have a far better chance of saving that take later.
DJI also packs in a proper set of audio-processing tools:

- Three voice-tone presets: Regular keeps things balanced and natural, Bright adds clarity and presence, while Rich gives voices more warmth and fullness.
The result is a system that feels forgiving. You still need to place the mic properly—no software can fully defeat a wind tunnel or a food court at peak hour—but the Mini 2S gives creators a much better starting point without demanding a crash course in audio engineering.
Multi-Person Setups & DJI Integration.
One receiver can connect to up to four transmitters at once, turning the Mic Mini 2S into more than a solo-vlogger tool. It can handle roundtable discussions, podcasts, interviews and small group productions without needing a totally separate audio system.

You can send 48kHz 24-bit audio directly to the camera without needing the receiver, resulting in a cleaner, lighter and completely cable-free setup.
Battery Life & Range.
DJI rates each Mic Mini 2S transmitter for up to 11 hours of use. With the charging case in play, the full system offers up to 40 hours of combined runtime, which is plenty for event coverage, a day of interviews or multiple sessions across a shoot.
Charging is quick, too: a full charge takes around 70 minutes, while five minutes of charging can provide roughly one hour of use. That will be a lifesaver for anyone who remembers to charge their camera, gimbal, phone and lights—but somehow forgets the microphones.
The wireless transmission range reaches up to 400m with the standard receiver and up to 300m with the mobile receiver in ideal line-of-sight conditions. Naturally, buildings, crowds and dense urban interference will reduce that in practice, but it is more than sufficient for the kind of close-to-medium-range creator work this mic is made for.

- The most attractive features are strongest if you are already using DJI’s Osmo cameras and ecosystem.
