Pragmata gives players plenty of ways to customize Hugh and Diana, but not every mod is worth your hard-earned resources. Some upgrades feel minor, while others completely change how the game flows—making combat smoother, hacking safer, and survival far less frustrating.
If you want to avoid wasting materials, these are the best Pragmata mods to equip and the ones that make the biggest difference.
Here they are:
Relay Amplifier

It doesn’t take a genius to see why this Relay Amplifier is essential. It gives you space to hack from afar. Less chances to get hit, more chances to evade and retreat. It’s especially important against bosses as some have insane AoE attacks that you’d want to avoid at any cost!
With Relay Amplifier, you can react faster and get out of range without taking a big risk by being up close.
Hyperfocus

Getting hit while hacking is a given. Unless you’re Neo, there will be a time when you’re tagged by one of the robots while you’re busy. Some hits can be really damaging… which sucks. Worse, when you’re hit, your hacking progress is reset!
Unless… you have Hyperfocus. Getting hit? No worries!
This is pretty much required against bosses. All of them hit fast and hard, with AoEs being used liberally. This takes the frustration out of hacking them because even if you do get hit (and you will) you can continue hacking right where you left off.
Untapped Potential

At first Untapped Potential seems a bit lacking. Then you realize it only needs ONE hacking node to activate. That’s where it gets awesome.
Surrounded by enemies and need a buff? Hack something, trigger a node and you’re set.
Since nodes are liberally scattered throughout (and especially near locations you’d fight in) the game, there’s no reason not to spam and abuse them. You don’t even need to use the nodes you like. Just drop your favorites to temporarily equip whatever is available then hack, activate and trigger Untapped Potential.
Sympathetic Hacking

The pistol (the rifle sucks so don’t bother) is the only weapon that’ll never run out of ammo. Problem with that is its recharging rate is soooooo damn slow. Sympathetic Hacking solves that issue by giving you instant reloads with a completed hack.
Here’s where it matters. That hack doesn’t have to be with nodes or anything else. You can just make a beeline for the ending point straight away. That means you can have a near constant stream of fire, with just a second or two of downtime from hacking.
Now you can pew pew away without needing to rely on secondary weapons at all!
Grace

Grace is one of the game’s most valuable mods simply because it’s running all the time. You don’t need to be in fights to charge your hacking gauge.
It’s great because it allows you to use Diana’s ultimate move much more frequently.
Even better, it adds to the hacking gauge recovery in battles. That means you refill the gauge faster, which means you can unleash the move multiple times in a boss battle!
There’s really no downside to this mod!
The Bottom Line:
Pragmata’s mod system is at its best when it smooths out the game’s rough edges. The right picks can turn difficult fights into manageable ones, keep your weapons online longer, and make Diana’s hacking far more reliable under pressure.
If you’re starting out, prioritize utility and survivability first. Damage can come later. Once your build is stable, that’s when the real experimentation begins.
And if Capcom ever delivers a sequel, here’s hoping the mod system returns even bigger and better.
