I’ll be honest right off the bat; I don’t use a Xiaomi or POCO phone. It’s not for lack of trying though. I do want to change over because the phones the company put out are incredible value. Read my review of the POCO X4 GT and you’ll see how powerful and impressive a relatively cheap phone (at least when compared to flagships from Samsung or Sony) can be. The new Xiaomi 12T Pro continues that tradition of affordably priced smartphones with beefy hardware.

The 4 main driving factors for that?

  • 200MP Camera
  • Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1
  • Smart 120W HyperCharge
  • 120Hz CrystalRes AMOLED Display

There’s also the matter the matter that this bad boy packs 12GB RAM and 256GB storage. 12GB RAM. Imagine that.

There are notebooks and desktops in the world right now with 8GB RAM yet here’s a smartphone with 1.5x that! I’m a bit letdown that the storage is 256GB instead of 512GB but that’s not a big deal if you have cloud saving (and who doesn’t?).

I’m not going to do a play by play of the specs (that will be saved for the review) but those 4 points (or at the very least the first 2) should have you salivating if you’re in the market for a new smartphone and balk at paying for flagships from big names.

Here’s something to whet your appetites though…

I’ve had time to test out the phone since last week and I’m mighty impressed. Impressed by the scores I got from Geekbench. Impressed by the scores I got from 3Dmark. Impressed by the scores I got from PCmark.

…and I’m not easily impressed.

While I’m not revealing them here (again, wait for the review that’s coming up in the next few days), know that the phone placed really well when measured up to flagships from other major manufacturers.

For those interested in that mega 200MP camera, I got you covered too fam!

Xiaomi’s brought selected Singaporean media to KL (guess who was invited!) just to show off the smartphone’s camera capabilities! That means there’s going to be an immense gallery of images coming up in the next few days…hopefully the hotel’s WiFi holds up.

Of course, the loaded question is how much the phone will cost.

The answer? The 12GB RAM + 256GB Xiaomi 12T Pro will have an MSRP of $1,099.

See? Told you that it won’t make you broke.

Xiaomi’s sweetening the pot too if you’re one of the early birds.

Pre-order the Xiaomi 12T Pro (or its slightly less beefy Xiaomi 12T) and you get a bevy of free gifts. If you pre-order the Xiaomi 12T Pro, you’ll get a Xiaomi Watch S1 Active (worth SG$229) and a Xiaomi Air Purifier 4 Compact (worth SG$159) gratis. If you preorder the Xiaomi 12T, you get just the Xiaomi Air Purifier 4 Compact.

No strings attached.

You can preorder the phones on Lazada or Shopee from October 5 – 12. The Xiaomi 12T Pro links for Shopee and Lazada are here, while the Xiaomi 12T links for Shopee and Lazada are here.

So buckle up and keep tuning in over the next few days for the images and video of the Xiaomi 12T Series Launch Party and later, for the review of the Xiaomi 12T Pro.

I promise you that you definitely won’t be disappointed!
