Do you remember Ubisoft’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint game that came out in 2019? Well, if you don’t, then I don’t blame you. It’s not exactly something that I find myself recalling as well, even though it wasn’t technically a bad game. It was just one of those games that didn’t exactly stand out.

In our review of the game, we did enjoy the revamped gameplay but felt like the story was working against itself by making Cole D. Walker (Jon Bernthal) irrelevant to the main narrative.

In my opinion, it honestly could have been a great game if they had just focused on Walker as the main antagonist, like how they had advertised.

All in all, even though most players may have forgotten the game, Ubisoft is not going to do that.

Ghost Recon Breakpoint next crossover.

Ubisoft has been actively engaging crossovers with the Ghost Recon franchise for years now, like Sam Fisher and Terminators. And the next addition to that lineup will be Operation Amber Sky, which will bring Rainbow Six Siege operators to the field.

On January 21, the new operation will go live and introduce nine free missions, involving both Ghosts and Rainbow units teaming up to investigate a deadly new gas. And unlike previous crossovers, brand new gameplay elements will be introduced in the missions to change things up a little.

Firstly, players will be forced to use and manage gas masks effectively to survive in these areas. This mechanic involves replacing mask filters regularly, so having a game plan becomes a necessity.

Lastly, the operation will allow you to swap existing AI companions to deploy popular Rainbow operators such as Ash, Thatcher and Finka. I’m honestly surprised that Ubisoft took this long to implement this feature.

Apart from that, more than 120 additional customization items will get added to Ghost Recon Breakpoint as part of the update. So if you’re keen to give a shot, be sure not to miss. As for those who want to try it but have yet to buy the game, then you’re in luck.

From January 21 to January 24, everyone can download and play the game for free over the weekend. It coincides perfectly with the upcoming update so you won’t be missing out on it either.

And after the free trial, if you want to keep the action going, you can buy the game with up to 85% discount. Don’t worry, all of your game progress will be carried over.

So will you be returning to the Auroa archipelago to continue your journey, Ghost?
