Apart from the commonly known franchise, Final Fantasy, Square Enix has another long-standing franchise that’s developed a massive fan base over the years. I’m talking about Dragon Quest series which has games dating back to 1986!

Most critics have praised DRAGON QUEST XI to be one of the best games in the series and as well as the best current JRPGs overall. So it’s no surprise that Square Enix decided to release an enhanced version of it, DRAGON QUEST XI S, on the Nintendo Switch back in 2019.

Thankfully, Square Enix didn’t choose to ignore the other platforms and will be releasing the enhanced version next month on the PS4, Xbox and PC.

DRAGON QUEST XI S demo is longer than most games!

Although DRAGON QUEST XI S releases next month, there’s still a lot of waiting to do in the meantime. Luckily Square Enix is allowing us to play the demo of the game while we wait impatiently! And the best part of it all is that the progress made gets carried over to the full game, so you’re not wasting any time or effort.

The demo might as well be an entire game with its ample playtime of 10 hours, and I believe it could be more than that if you choose to explore every nook and crank of its open-world environments. The demo itself mainly focuses on the opening chapter of the game where players are introduced to the protagonist and his life journey, and as well as the events leading up to shape the central storyline.

The enhanced version of DRAGON QUEST XI S brings a lot of surprising components to an already incredible game. For example, players will have the choice to play the entire game in Japanese voice-over audio instead of the original English version.

You can also enjoy travelling the world of Erdrea all the while deciding between the symphonic or the original synthesized soundtracks to listen to. These are just some of the few things you can expect from DRAGON QUEST XI S, as there’s so much more to experience!

The demo is currently out and available for free on the PS4Xbox One and Steam, to anyone interested in giving it a shot. So what are you waiting for? Get to downloading and start playing!
