Ubisoft’s Watch Dogs: Legion is to release within the month, and some of us are still not entirely convinced on the game, including myself.
The idea that you can recruit anyone in the game and the fact that you can eventually also get to use Aiden Pearce (the protagonist from the first game) as well; is intriguing to be sure but that’s the only information we’ve gotten so far.
Thankfully, Ubisoft just dropped off some trailers on its YouTube Channel to shine a brighter light on the story and post-launch content of the game. And damn it looks good.
Watch Dogs: Legion, The Story.
As a gamer, my main concern is always about the story of the game. It’s generally the deciding factor for me to get any game, most of the time. And to be honest, the initial information on Watch Dogs: Legion story that we received from previous gameplay trailers was somewhat bland and uninteresting.
The idea of people fighting against a corporation felt like a reused story content from the last Watch Dogs game, and I’m glad that it’s not the direction that Ubisoft went for in this one.
Enter Zero Day, the real antagonist of Watch Dogs: Legion. The new story trailer introduces us to the character through a series of bombings that throws all of London into disarray, forcing it to become an authoritarian police state.
Meanwhile, DeadSec is blamed for the situation and hunted down for crimes it did not commit. Now, this is the kind of story content that I can get behind; the premise of it is already so intriguing that I can’t wait to find more!
Post Launch Content.
Ubisoft also revealed it’s post-launch content details for Watch Dogs: Legion and it’s a lot more than what I was expecting to see. First up, is the free content that everyone will have access to as long as you get the game, of course.
On December 3rd, players will be able to access the online functions of the game that will allow you to play several game modes such as open-world co-op with up to four players. In co-op mode, players can partake in new co-op missions, challenges and ops that will focus a lot on working together as a team.
Ubisoft is also finally bringing back the classic invasion mode from the original game and is introducing a brand new PVP mode called Spider-Bot Arena, that will pit you against other players in a free for all gameplay.
In addition to all of that, players will receive new characters, story missions and new game plus mode for the campaign portion of the game as well.

As for the Season Pass of Watch Dogs: Legion that requires payment has its very own share of compelling content. Players will have access to a brand new story expansion called Bloodlines that focus on Aiden Pearce along with Wench from Watch Dogs 2, and both characters are fully playable.
In addition to that, two new playable characters will get added to that list totalling it up to four. First up is Mercy, who is capable of mind-controlling NPCs after undergoing transhuman experimentation which should lead to some interesting gameplay moments for sure.
Lastly, we are getting a crossover from the Assassin’s Creed franchise through Darcy who is a member of the Assassin Order! I sure hope she comes with a hidden blade for some stabby attacks.
Are you more convinced about getting Watch Dogs: Legion as I am now? The game will be releasing on October 29 for PlayStation, Xbox and PC and it is currently available for pre-order now. For more information on the reveals, please click here to visit their official site.
