It lives! The Prince of Persia series lives!

Unlike most people, my gaming journey began around my teenage days. It was games like the first Witcher from 2007 and Metal Gear Solid from 1998, that showed me that gaming wasn’t just about playing but about experiencing amazing stories and connecting yourself with the characters. Since then, I’ve been a gamer who plays for the storytelling adventure rather than the gameplay aspect.

At the time when I was slowly picking up gaming, I came across The Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time by accident. I had no real experience with platforming games, so this was my first real platformer on the PC. As I played the game, I began struggling with the platforming gameplay due to my lack of experience in the area. Despite that, the game had immediately hooked itself on me with its marvellous narrative. Since then, I’ve been a huge fan of the series, and I’ve played every game that came after.

Fast forward a few years, there began a rumour that Ubisoft was planning to remake the original Prince of Persia. I was excited, and I had hoped that day would come to be true. And now it has.

The Prince of Persia is back!

After years, the series is finally getting the recognition it deserves for a remake! Ubisoft finally announced The Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake officially by releasing the trailer. I was so excited to watch the trailer and immersive myself into the nostalgia. That is until I actually ended up watching it…

Don’t get me wrong; the game does look great. The game play is similar to the old game, which is a huge relief. However, the graphic does not look like it’s up to the standard of the current generation at all! Not only that, what is up with the Prince’s and Farah’s character face models? Why does the Prince’s face look like a sexy model instead of a formidable warrior?

This Prince of Persia remake is not the one I had in mind, but I’ll be getting the game to support it nonetheless, especially if it means that it will lead to the next two games in the series getting a remake as well. I speak for everyone when I say we need the Persia of Persia: Warrior Within!

The Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake is arriving next year on January 21 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One. It is unclear if it will be made available for the PS5, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S in the future but I sure hope so.
