Today, 2K reveals the cover superstars of the new upcoming WWE 2K20 video game: Raw Women’s Champion Becky Lynch and WWE Superstar Roman Reigns.
According to 2K’s Vice President of Marketing, Chris Snyder, Lynch and Reigns are chosen for their embodiment of “passion, determination and perseverance”.
With Lynch gracing the cover of this year’s game release, it marks WWE’s first time featuring a female wrestler on the video game cover. This is a powerful symbolic move for Lynch who has been making big waves for the past year, doing things that past female WWE wrestlers wouldn’t have been able to do.
Lynch said, “My career has been about breaking barriers and doing what nobody else has done before. Being the first female Superstar on the cover of a WWE 2K video game is no exception.”
As for Reigns, this is also his first time on the cover of a WWE game and he is particularly happy about it. “As a gamer myself, being on the cover of WWE 2K20 alongside ‘The Man’ Becky Lynch and joining the likes of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and John Cena is a huge career and personal milestone for me,” he said.
Release date
The game is set to release worldwide on 22 October this year for PS4, Xbox and PC.

Gameplay
2K Showcase: The Women’s Evolution
The game mode, 2K Showcase: The Women’s Revolution, will be story-driven and objective-based. It features the careers of the Four Horsewomen: Lynch, Smackdown Women’s champ Bayley, Charlotte Flair and Sasha Banks. According to Snyder, this is created for the fans who have “asked for female-driven MyCAREER and 2K Showcase offerings”.
The game controls have been designed to make it easier so that beginners can join in without any trouble while also keeping it challenging enough for experienced players.
WWE 2K20 Originals (new)
WWE 2K20 Originals is new downloadable content for the game (may require additional purchase).
There’s a ton of new 2K Showcase add-on content, including a new playable world and its own unique theme. Not sure what this looks like yet as more info will only come in the following months.
If you pre-order the game’s standard edition, you can get access to the first WWE 2K20 Originals package once it launches.
Purchase bonuses
If you purchase the WWE 2K20 Deluxe Edition or Collector’s Edition, you’ll get additional in-game bonuses that include playable superstars like Chyna, Hulk Hogan, Mankind and The Rock.
