Set to release in theatres on 18 October this year, Zombieland: Double Tap is the follow-up movie to the 2009 zombie comedy by the same makers. Ruben Fleischer returns to direct the film which is written by Rhett Reese, Paul Wernick and David Callaham.
The sequel also features the same main cast starring Woody Harrelson (Tallahasse), Jesse Eisenberg (Columbus), Emma Stone (Wichita) and Abigail Breslin (Little Rock).
Check out the trailer:
This time, the story follows the zombie slayer crew who try to get along as a family as they move into the White House. Little Rock later somehow goes missing, probably runs off with a boy. Having grown to be a protective father figure of the group, Tallahassee gets mad and even says, “I have nothing against hippies, I just wanna beat the s*** out of him.” Uh oh!
So on their quest to find Little Rock, they run into evolved zombies and other fellow survivors, a couple of which even hilariously look and behave like Tallahassee and Columbus.

In the Zombieland: Double Tap trailer, we see 5 new faces joining our favourite zombie fighters. According to IMDB, they are Madison (Zoey Deutch), Nevada (Rosario Dawson), Berkeley (Avan Jogia) and two unnamed characters who remind Wichita of Columbus and Tallahassee (Luke Wilson and Thomas Middleditch).
It’s unclear to see how they affect the dynamics of the main crew and if they would join to expand the group.

This is one zombie comedy that I’m very much looking forward to when it comes out because of how funny and entertaining the first movie was. During a time when zombie shows were abundant, Zombieland is a very nice surprise with a refreshingly hilarious script and spot-on chemistry between Harrelson and Eisenberg.

As Tallahassee, Harrelson continues to dance on that fine line as a wonderfully insane and over-the-top “I can handle everything” cool hero type without coming off too cheesy. It’s the perfect counter-balance to Eisenberg’s geeky and reserved Columbus. Which is exactly what Zombieland needs and has, and I’m here for it for the upcoming sequel.

In addition to a new film, there will also be an idle-RPG mobile game based on it called Zombieland: Double Tapper. The game features the characters from the movie collecting deadly loot while fighting off waves of brain-hungry zombies.
It will be available on both App Store and Google Play. Currently, there’s no release date yet so if you’re interested, you can pre-register your name and email on the website to get a special reward that will help you in the game. Pre-registration is free and open to all.
