When you think of Targus, laptop bags, computer mouse and tablet cases would likely come first to mind. And when you see the name Harley-Davidson, you might picture cool big bikes riding on some desert highway. These are two totally things, so I can bet you wouldn’t even imagine Targus and Harley-Davidson would partner up for something special, right?

Well, they just did!

In a huge joint effort to empower on-the-go professionals of Singapore, Targus and Harley-Davidson teamed up to design a special edition bike — Targus x Harley-Davidson 2019 Iron 853™ signed by Mikel H. Williams, the life-long bike-enthusiast Global CEO of Targus himself.

Eric Kuan and Gary Eng enter the event in style, on a Harley-Davidson bike.

To celebrate the occasion, Gary Eng (Brand and Marketing Officer of Harley Davidson Singapore) and Eric Kuan (APAC Senior Commercial Director of Targus) even came rolling in on a Harley-Davidson bike. Talk about embodying the freedom of mobility and rugged individuality!

In his opening speech, Kuan said with a laugh, “I gotta tell you, I’m quite uneasy about what I’m wearing. It’s not my usual, you know, fashion. I’m always in office wear, but I was given a few days to prep up with special help from Gary [Eng] to be a biker today.”

But that surely didn’t stop him as he walked the walk of what this collaboration meant for both Targus and Harley-Davidson. “We are extremely proud of this collaboration with Harley-Davidson who shares the same brand sentiments and values of quality, strength, safety and design. We hope our innovations that are perfectly designed for on-the-go professionals who dare to dream of the endless possibilities of life will continue to empower their lifestyle.”

Now the important question… where does the bike go after this? Well, the bike is THE grand prize of the ‘Top Spender Reward’ giveaway contest by Targus. The contest starts today on 12 July and ends on 12 October 2019.

The chosen bike is from the Harley-Davidson sportster range that is equipped for land speed records, epic road trips, drag racing and hill climbing. The global Targus design team created a unique version of the timeless camouflage design that will be applied on the bike’s fuel tank. We didn’t manage to see this design in person as it’s still in the making. It should of course be ready in time for the lucky Targus contest winner to bring it home.

What we did get to see was a printed look of the special design on poster. The design is in fractal white and shades of light and dark greys, supposedly to reflect the fashionable and edgy DNA of the two brands. Edith Ka, APAC Managing Director of Targus, also pointed out that the camouflage pattern is made up of a collage of the letter ‘T’ for Targus and ‘H’ for Harley-Davidson.
