In a bid to keep the hype going for Persona 5: The Royal (abbreviated as P5R), Atlus has dropped a new trailer for the upcoming enhanced version of the popular J-RPG, Persona 5.
Check out the new trailer here:
The trailer gives fans of the game(s) more details on what (or who) is arguably P5R’s biggest new addition: a new Phantom Thief. Previously introduced in the game’s first trailer, Kasumi Yoshizawa (voiced by the lovely Amamiya Sora) is a first year gymnast at Shujin Academy, who doubts the motivations of the Phantom Thieves.
What’s new about Kasumi?
Apart from getting a couple of clips of her interacting with the protagonist, this new trailer reveals more about Kasumi. This time, we’re shown a clip of her Awakening, along with shots of her Persona, Cendrillon.

We’re also shown clips of her All-Out Attack, which is gracefully executed with ribbon-twirling.
Once again, we’re still not entirely sure how Kasumi will be fitting into Persona 5’s main story. Judging from how Persona 5 went down, though, it’s likely that players will be getting a new dungeon to explore in. After all, each character awakens their Persona in a new dungeon (with the exception of the first one, where three characters, including the protagonist, awaken their Personas).
Details on the Deluxe Edition
That’s not the only information we’ve gotten from this new trailer. A Deluxe Edition of Persona 5: The Royal has also been announced! Named the “Straight Flush Edition”, the deluxe edition will be released alongside the game’s standard edition in Japan.
Going at the price of 13,800 yen, the Straight Flush Edition includes the following goodies:
- Special box with artwork by Shigenori Soejima;
- B5-sized, hardcover, 48-page Persona 5: The Royal artbook;
- Persona 5: The Royal Soundtrack CD and Booklet;
- Large-sized T-Shirt designed by P-Studio, with an unrevealed design that will be inspired by the aesthetics of Persona 5: The Royal; and
- DLC Set Costumes for the Phantom Thieves
- Velvet Room Costume and BGM Special Set
- Persona 5: Dancing in Starlight Costume and BGM Set
Persona 5: The Royal will be released for the PlayStation 4 on October 31 in Japan, and in 2020 in the west. We’re looking forward to what the game has in store!
Oh man I would kill for original P5 on the Switch, but this will have to do I suppose. Great write up!
