Remember…no multiplayer.

We’ve seen Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Remastered a few years back, when it was released alongside Infinite Warfare, but we’re just now hearing rumors of a Modern Warfare 2 remaster slated to hit undetermined platforms. If we had to guess, it’ll be on Xbox One, PS4 and PC with the the Nintendo Switch left out in the cold.

The news of a potential upcoming remaster was leaked when PEGI (the European ratings body) uploaded a new rating for it. Sadly, the rating seems to be taken down (or at least hidden from the general public) so there’s no way to check up on it.

That’s not the end of the bad news as well; it looks like the remaster will ONLY include Modern Warfare 2’s Campaign, not its multiplayer component. That’s incredibly sad as we have really fond memories of the running around like headless chicken in the multiplayer maps, particularly the airport terminal, the site of many, many furious matches.

If we had to guess, this seems like the perfect component to entice fans to get this year’s Call of Duty. Like they did for Infinite Warfare, Activision might tack this remaster with the higher end versions for this year’s release.

We’re sure more will be revealed at E3 (or even earlier) so let’s just wait and see how it all turns out.
