Did you know that Build-A-Bear has an Animal Crossing line now?

It went on sale last night…for about an hour.

Yeah, it’s was NUTS…especially considering that each bear was US$51 and there were only 2 different characters on offer.

The interest for these bears was so great that Build-A-Bear had a pre-waiting room for the right to be in the main waiting room! Yup, you read that right. You can queue in the pre-waiting room (which opened 30 minutes before the waiting room) and to randomly get assigned a number for the waiting room. Everybody else who came after the pre-waiting room closed, had to go to the back of the line.

Sheesh!

I was in the pre-waiting room and l actually lucked out in getting a decent number in the damn queue. I was able to buy one of the bears (Tom Nook with Phrases) so we’ll be doing a review of it when it reaches me sometime later this month…hopefully.

I had to use Comgateway since the bear doesn’t ship here directly so you’ll need to be aware of that if you plan on nabbing the bears when they’re back in stock.

It’s honestly a bit disappointing to only get two characters considering that there’s a ton of great Animal Crossing characters to choose from. I could’ve certainly done without Isabelle though I do admit she does deserve her place considering her prominence in the new game.

Hopefully, this is just the first wave of Build-A-Bear’s Animal Crossing bears! I’d personally want a K.K. Slider or an Able Sister bear myself so hopefully those are in the plans for future waves.

In the meantime, if you’re interested, you’ll definitely want to sign up to the Build-A-Bear website to get email alerts on when the next wave is coming.
