The 2014 Amazing Spider-Man 2 was a movie that had its fair share of ups and downs. It was also the last time we got to see Andrew Garfield reprise his role as Spider-Man. However, if there was one take away from it all, it was the portrayal of Electro by Jamie Foxx.

It was the first time the character made its appearance on the silver screen, and despite initially receiving backlash for being cast, Jamie Foxx showed nailed the role perfectly. The portrayal of the character even resonated with fans as a tragic villain, instead of your typical bad guy.

Unfortunately, the character dies at the end of the movie. And that was the end of Electro, or so we thought.

Jamie Foxx reprising his role is a real possibility.

According to a report by The Hollywood Reporter, Jamie Foxx is in the last talks of reprising his role as Electro. But this time it’s going to be in the MCU! That’s right; Electro is getting ready to do battle against Tom Holland’s Spider-Man in the untitled Spider-Man 3 movie.

It may be shocking to see characters from other Spider-Man movies appearing in the MCU, but this isn’t the first time something like this has happened.

In the 2019 Spider-Man: Far From Home movie, the idea of the Spider-Verse existing got teased with the reveal of J. Jonah Jameson outing Peter Parker’s identity to the world. The actor, J.K. Simmons who plays J. Jonah Jameson, was initially from Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man trilogy and now the same character is part of the MCU.

If Jamie Foxx ends up taking the deal, it could lead to more possibilities of the MCU bringing in characters from different universes. Just imagine how cool it would be if Toby Mcquire, Andrew Garfield and Tom Holland finally get together for a Spider-Verse live-action movie?
