It may not be the fight that we have wanted between Mark Hamill and Patrick Stewart, but it’s the one we got right now.

Just like the console wars with Microsoft and Sony and comic book wars with DC and Marvel, another conflict has been going on for as long as I can remember. The battle between Star Wars and Star Trek fans.

The concept of which of these famous sci-fi franchises are better, which characters would win in a battle or who has the grander skill of piloting has always been something that fans have eagerly debated for years.

It’s like the holy grail of questions in the nerd world, and the only way this can ever resolve is through a crossover of the franchises to finally battle it out and show the world who’s the victor!

The Mark Hamill and Patrick Stewart sure know their food orders.

Now decades later, fans are finally getting a crossover but not just what they were hoping. And yet it still manages to be excellent!

In Uber Eats latest series of commercial, they have managed to bring both Mark Hamill from Star Wars and Patrick Stewart from Star Trek together in a hilarious confrontation of the pronunciation of tomatoes, the preference of food and being overly competitive in games. All the while, receiving their specific food orders from UberEats on time or in this case immediately, but you get the point of it.

Despite the take away of the commercial being about effective delivery, the performances of Mark Hamill and Patrick Stewart have become the primary focus. One of my favourite scenes in the commercial is when Patrick Stewart intimidates Hamill that, “Careful, Hamill, daddy’s not here to save you.”

It was a direct reference to Darth Vader and Mark Hamill replies with a comeback that no one anticipated, “Oh, I am my daddy.”

It was so weird and yet incredibly hilarious. There is a total of three commercials featuring both actors and it must costed Uber a ton of money, but hey at least we got some entertainment of this weird crossover.

Who knows? Maybe someone in the movie industry will start pushing for an actual crossover after this. Just imagine Picard wielding a lightsaber!
