Fans of the DC Extended Universe (DCEU) fret not, Batfleck is here to save the day!
As for Matt Reeves’ The Batman it is still proceeding as planned, and in fact, it’s official logo just got revealed.
The infamous 2016 Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice film had its fair share of hate and love. However, there was one constant element in the movie that everyone loved, Ben Affleck‘s portrayal of the Dark Knight. Henceforth, Affleck became Batfleck to the people!
There were doubts if Affleck could pull off being Batman, but that all changed when people saw it in action. Batman is all about bringing fear to his enemies, which he nailed perfectly. I’ve always loved Bale’s representation of Batman, but it lacked the component of terror.
Sure, people had gripes of Affleck’s approach to the killing baddies, which is unlike how Batman would operate. And that, it still bugs me till this day, but no one can honestly reject this version of Batman.
Batfleck was the ‘Batman’ you’d believe could that do some real damage and put the fear in the criminal industry. However, like all good things, this too came to an end. After the flop of Justice League, Batfleck called it quits; and DC Fans were devastated.
Just like how Obi-Wan said it, “I felt a great disturbance in the Force as if millions of voices suddenly cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced. I fear something terrible has happened.“
The Return of Batfleck.
Thanks to The Flash movie, Batfleck will be returning to reprise his role as Batman! There was a time where we weren’t sure if we would get The Flash movie based on Ezra Miller’s portrayal. With directors leaving the project left and right, it seemed impossible and yet here we are now!
The Flash movie is exploring to adapt the Flashpoint comic book arc, which is pretty amazing! The Flashpoint arc is about the time when Barry Allen (The Flash) travels back in time to save his mum. And in doing so, he ends up changing the entire timeline and lives for everyone.
By adopting this particular arc in the movie, directors can very well bring in different versions of Batman and not only Batfleck. Micheal Keaton, the actor who played Batman in the 1989 Batman movie, will also be reprising his role as an older Batman.
The Flash movie just got a lot more exciting for me as a Batman fan! I can’t wait to see if they’ll decide to bring on Jeffery Morgan into the movie to reprise his role as Bruce Wayne’s father. In the Flashpoint arc, Bruce Wayne’s father is also a Batman! How cool is that, right?
For now, all we can do is wait and see if the DC FanDome virtual event this Sunday will provide us with more juicy updates on this topic.
