Being stuck at home can be fun…if you’re an introvert (like me!). For everybody else, it’s pretty much like a (boring) jail sentence, especially if you’re under quarantine and have nothing to do!

COVID-19 might be ravaging the world right now but that doesn’t mean you can’t have any fun!

Luckily, we’re all gamers!

Here at The Technovore, we’ve come up with a list of 5 games that you can easily play while under quarantine. Hell, any one of them can last you years…All five?

You’re set until 2030!

Here are our picks!

If you decided not to watch the video (why?!), our picks are:

Final Fantasy XIV

Quarantine

Why it’s here:

As the best MMORPG in the world right now, there’s nothing that will suck you in more than Final Fantasy XIV (FFXIV) and its expansions. Thousands of hours of gameplay await anybody willing to dive into Eorzea and uncover its varied mysteries!

You don’t even need a powerful PC to run, the game’s also available on the PS4. Even better, PS4 and PC players share the same servers so you’re always guaranteed people to play with and ZERO chance to get COVID-19!

They may quarantine your body, but that doesn’t mean you can’t go online!

Stardew Valley

Quarantine

Why it’s here:

Stardew Valley might not be the type of game that hooks you in with its flashy looks, but it has more than enough gameplay chops to get you addicted.

From farming to adventuring in the mine (and other dungeons) to unlocking new technology to making friends with the villagers…it’s a whirlwind of activity for you as you jet from one thing to another!

If that’s too hectic, invite some friends over and make them work on your farm for you! After all, slave labour (of quarantined friends) is the best type of labor!

Dreams

Quarantine

Why it’s here:

We’re still writing up our review of Dreams (it’s slow going because there’s so much to do and experience!) but suffice to say, this is one of the game with the longest lasting potential that we’ve ever seen!

Dreams isn’t a game as much as it is a flexible game maker that allows you (with some ingenuity and dedication), to create whatever it is that you want to play!

If that’s not enough, you can always access what other players have created and see what you can accomplish in the app!

Animal Crossing New Horizons

Quarantine

Why it’s here:

While Animal Crossing won’t be out till Friday (20th March 2020), from what we’ve seen of the game it’s going to be a massive time sink!

There’s a ton to do in the game but the best part is that NOBODY’s forcing you to do stuff you don’t want to! Paying off Tom Nook to upgrade your house isn’t compulsory if you’re happy living in a tent. Neither is fishing or bug collecting if you don’t feel like it!

Its free form gameplay is why the game deserves its place here and we can’t wait to do the review as soon as we get our grubby mitts on the game!

Skyrim: Special Edition

Why it’s here:

It’s a MASSIVE RPG that you don’t need other people to play with to enjoy! Build a house, raise orphan kids, delve into forgotten dungeons, take on dragons, take part (or quash) in a rebellion…the list goes on and on on what you can do in the game!

Since it’s on every platform known to man, there’s no reason for you NOT to be able to enjoy this stellar masterpiece.

By the time you do and see everything in the game, we’re confident that COVID-19 would’ve been eradicated!
