It’s been a while since Warner Bros. released the two teaser videos for the upcoming Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) film. And so far, they look fantastic! But fans are left wondering when we’ll get the official trailer since it’s scheduled to release in 7 February 2020.
Starring Margot Robbie, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Jurnee Smollett-Bell, Rosie Perez, Chris Messina, Ella Jay Basco, Ali Wong and Ewan McGregor, Birds of Prey is a DCEU film based on the DC comics team of the same name. As the first ever all-female superhero team movie, it’s understandable that they’d want to create as much hype as it deserves. But we’re gonna need more than teasers that barely tell us the story the movie’s focusing on.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the delay in releasing the trailer could be due to Warner Bros wanting to “showcase the film’s stylish action set pieces in order to make a strong first impression”. As a result, John Wick trilogy director Chad Stahelski stepped in to help “design and work on additional action scenes”. This means he’s pulling double duty as his own stunt firm 87 Eleven has already been part of the movie project from the beginning. Stahelski and director Cathy Yan worked together on the additional shoots.
While it may sound worrying, rest assured that this is standard in the industry. As mentioned before, the teasers have both looked great even though Birds of Prey is Yan’s first time directing a big studio film. This means the movie is perfectly safe in Yan’s capable hands as director with Stahelski’s guidance.
So here’s the official trailer of Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn):
