Yes, it’s finally here! The official trailer video for the upcoming crime drama film called El Camino: A Breaking Bad movie has arrived and it’s gotten fans across the globe very excited.
As we’ve mentioned before, Aaron Paul is reprising his role as Jesse Pinkman who has gone through a lot in the original Breaking Bad series. Towards the series end, he was captured by an Aryan brotherhood and forced to cook meth before Walter White (portrayed by Bryan Cranston) came to rescue him. Jesse was then able to escape in his car, a Chevrolet El Camino.
The upcoming film will be picking up moments after that, which you can see in the official trailer.
The trailer proceeds to show Jesse searching for something and staying hidden in his car while police drive past since he’s a wanted man. We also get a shot of a mysterious man with a holstered gun from the back who asks Jesse if he’s “ready”.
It’s still not clear to see what the story is yet and it’s almost cruel that director Vince Gilligan would keep the identity of the gun man a secret. Some fans are speculating that it’s Walter and the man’s dressing, from what can be seen from the trailer, does look similar to Walter’s. But does the voice asking “You ready?” sound like Cranston? Perhaps a little, though it isn’t convincing enough for me.
Meanwhile, there are fans who seem to think that it could be Ed the Disappearer (played by Robert Forster). He’s the guy whom people go to for new lives and identities. In Season 5 of the original series, Jesse was supposed to have gone with him to leave town at Walter’s request but Jesse cancelled at the last minute. I compared his voice with the mysterious man’s and I think they sound quite similar. So there’s a possibility that Jesse goes to meet Ed in an attempt to lay low for a while.
Who do you think the mysterious man could be? Tell us in the comments.
The movie is set to premiere on Netflix on 11 October 2019.
