As one of the best American drama series, Breaking Bad is finally returning to our screens with a new film. Called El Camino: A Breaking Bad, the film stars Aaron Paul as Jesse Pinkman and the plot will pick up from where the series left off. It is scheduled to premiere on Netflix on 11 October this year.

There had been rumours of a Breaking Bad movie last year but nothing seemed to come out of them. According to Paul in an interview with New York Times, they resurfaced again when filming began in Alburquerque under the working title Greenbrier and the local media started piecing it together with the popular series. But by then, production was almost done.

Check out the official teaser dropped by Netflix:

Breaking Bad fans will be happy to know Breaking Bad series director and writer Vince Gilligan has also returned to helm El Camino. And that Aaron Paul and Charles Baker will be reprising their roles as Jesse Pinkman and his friend Skinny Pete.

The teaser video shows Skinny Pete being interrogated about Jesse’s disappearance. He says that he doesn’t know where Jesse is but even if he does, he won’t tell them either. Ah, bless Skinny Pete. Such a loyal friend and also a great side character!

*Spoiler warning for those who aren’t caught up with the series yet. But if you don’t mind spoilers, please continue reading.*

The film title refers to the car that Jesse escaped in, Chevrolet El Camino.

As you know from the series finale, Walter White (portrayed by Bryan Cranston) had helped Jesse escape the Aryan Brotherhood gang who took him captive to cook the famed crystal blue meth for them. This makes Jesse one of the only characters to have some sort of future after the show ends.

Interestingly, the film title refers to the car that Jesse rode in when he escaped the place, the Chevrolet El Camino. Plus “El Camino” means the road or path in Spanish, which may apply to Jesse’s situation as he finds his way back from all the craziness he has endured.

So since the film will be continuing from there, it’s possible that Jesse is cooking again somewhere and successfully enough to catch the DEA’s attention once more.

Can’t wait for a new trailer to drop that would show more of the film and its main plot! And of course, we need to know if Cranston will be involved somehow too or anyone else in the cast. So far, the film’s been a very well-kept secret but it’s time to unveil!

Also, did anyone else notice the pictures framed outside the interrogation room? Brb, gonna grab a tissue… I’m not crying, you’re crying!
