Earlier this month, we got news that the upcoming Titans Season 2 is coming out in September, along with a bunch of new characters. They include the Titans’ new enemy, Slade Wilson aka Deathstroke (Esai Morales).

In the first season, the young heroes struggle to harness their powers and work as a team under the tutelage of Dick Grayson (Brenton Thwaites).

This time, it looks like the plot will show their growth as individuals with improved control of their unique abilities and better team players. However, Grayson’s relationship with Jason Todd and his own inner turmoil seem to worsen in this new season.

Check out the full official trailer for Titans Season 2:

The trailer reveals that Grayson seems to be harbouring more secrets, which is frustrating the others. As a result, Jason becomes more rebellious and the two have a pretty intense confrontation where he tells Grayson that he’s in his way.

This pushes Grayson to consult with his former mentor Bruce Wayne (Iain Glen) himself, asking, “Would you do it again, devote all that time and trouble for someone who just wants to leave?”

To which Bruce replies, “I would do everything exactly the same.”

Grayson appears to also be (secretly?) training Rose Wilson (Chelsea Zhang), the daughter of Deathstroke. With that and trying to look out for Jason, the plot seems to point in the direction towards Grayson finally outgrowing his Robin identity. Whether or not he ends up picking up the Batman mantle or becoming his own Nightwing is unclear because of what Dawn Granger (Minka Kelly) said at the end of the trailer.

But whatever he chooses will ultimately be the key for the Titans to survive everyone who threatens them and the world they want to save.

It’s already looking to be another awesome season for the show. I can’t wait to see what happens.

On 6 September, the new episodes of Titans will be available for streaming on DC Universe in the US and on Netflix internationally.
