Earlier this month, Netflix released the third season of the Marvel’s Jessica Jones series featuring Krysten Ritter. After Season 2’s dramatic ending, fans can expect nothing short of that in this new season.
The series returns with Krysten Ritter as Jessica Jones, Rachael Taylor as Trish Walker, Carrie-Anne Moss as Jeryn Hogarth, Eka Darville as Malcolm Ducasse and Rebecca De Mornay as Dorothy Walker. Krysten also makes her directorial debut in the Season 3 episode, AKA You’re Welcome. For that, the series creator Melissa Rosenberg sang her praises for a job well done, saying “she just frickin’ nailed it, man.”

This new season also introduces a new antagonist, Gregory Salinger/Foolkiller, played by Jeremy Bobb. The villainous psychopath torments Jessica and Trish all season till its emotional conclusion that ends on a bittersweet note. It’s bittersweet because it also marks the end of the show.

What fans are saying
Netflix has already announced the shocking cancellation of the show, along with the other Marvel series on the platform like The Punisher, Iron Fist and Luke Cage. However, it seems like the Jessica Jones season finale brought up chatters of a possible revival somewhere else. Talks about the shows being moved to the upcoming Disney+ have long surfaced online but none are confirmed.

Does Krysten wanna play Jessica Jones again?
Looks like the answer is no. According to an interview with TVline.com, Krysten says that she “feels ready” to put the show behind her. She also believes that she has played her enough to move on from here.

Will the series ever get picked up again?
Never say never! Even though showrunner Melissa is not too closed off to the idea of reviving the show one day, the series feels like a “really complete, closed chapter” and that she is ready to tell new stories.
Whether Jessica Jones will make a comeback in the future one day or not, don’t give it a miss. It’s truly well worth a watch!
