Forget gaming chairs or other gaming paraphernalia, Microsoft has just announced something that (literally) blows everything else out of the water. Yes, you read that headline right – Microsoft will be making an Xbox body wash.
That’s not the only thing they’re coming up with, either. Partnering with the brand behind Axe body spray, Microsoft will be also producing new Xbox-branded shower gel and deodorant.

Why the sudden move?
According to the Verge, Tania Chee, the business group lead for Xbox Australia / New Zealand, had this to say: “We see Xbox fans achieve incredible things every day, and we wanted to celebrate that elevated skill, passion and determination by creating something truly special. Now, powering up can be as simple as a quick spray before you head out the door.”
Nice of Microsoft to encourage good hygiene practices amongst their consumers, through the use of the Xbox name. Bonus points for great marketing, seeing as how the products carry the black and green hues of the Xbox brand, even in the form of toiletries.
What does it smell like?
Of course, the smell of the products would be a concern that comes to mind. According to Microsoft, they will smell like fruit, herbs and various styles of wood.
Not convinced? Here’s the product’s description: “Lynx Xbox is a fresh scent of pulsing green citrus, featuring top notes of kaffir lime and winter lemon, aromatic herbal middle notes of mint and sage, and woody bottom notes of patchouli and clearwood.”
The product line will launch in July, and will only be exclusive to Australia. For this reason, these Xbox toiletries will be branded under Axe’s parent company, Unilever’s, Lynx line – the name for Axe in markets outside of the United States. Guess we won’t be seeing this at E3!
