If you’re a fan of the Sims series, here’s your chance to get it for free. From now till May 28, fans can claim a free copy of The Sims 4 from Electronic Arts (EA).

What’s in the game itself?

Much like every other Sims game, The Sims 4 allows you to create and control people in a virtual world. It’s a game that allows you to express your creativity, by customising your Sims’ appearances and building and decorating houses for them. Being the newest Sims game, The Sims 4’s Create A Sim tool is its most powerful version yet.

Each Sim has their own unique personalities as well, based on traits and aspirations that are selected by the player. They’ll also be able to interact with other Sims in the neighbourhood!

All in all, you’re given free reign to create and construct your own neighbourhood, and the people (Sims) living in it. Whatever happens is up to you, the player! You’re essentially “playing god” in a sense.

Note that this free version of the game is only the base version of The Sims 4 though. If you’re interested in any of the game’s various expansion packs, you’ll have to purchase them.

How do I get a copy?

In order to claim your free copy of The Sims 4, head over to the Origin client, or access their online store. The game can be downloaded on both Mac and Windows PC. There’s also the option to purchase the Digital Deluxe edition for $49.99.

You won’t have to worry about having to pay for the game once this promotion period ends on May 28, either! The download will allow players to keep their copy of The Sims 4. After all, it’s not a trial – the game will remain as part of players’s EA game libraries even after this promotion ends.
