If you’re a big fan of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and its movies, and Avengers: Endgame left you feeling a little empty, we totally get you. Though a big chapter of the MCU has closed, it’s important to remember that a new one opens in its wake.

That, and there are other movies based on comics to look forward to this year. Though these films may not be as much of an epic as Endgame was, we’re still looking forward to them! Here’s our list:

1. Spiderman: Far from Home

How can we not look forward to the first of many, in Marvel’s next big phase of movies? Though one can argue that there have been tons of Spider-man movies, I’m personally pretty fond of Tom Holland’s portrayal of a more innocent, 21st Century based Spider-man.

Plus, now that we know that his suit was created by Tony Stark, there might just be more surprises and upgrades in store in this movie!

2. Joker

When you think of highly-anticipated movies this year, one of them is Joker, hands down. How could we leave it out, after watching the chilling teaser trailer for the movie?

Much like Spider-man, there have been many renditions of Joker – from the Dark Knight trilogy, to the Gotham TV series, each different from the rest. In light of that, we’re excited to see how Joaquin Phoenix will show off his take on one of DC’s most famous villains.

3. The New Mutants

New Mutants will follow the adventures of five young mutants, who are still struggling to figure out their powers, while trying to escape from the facility that they’re trapped in.

The trailer definitely helps to add to the anticipation of the film, seeing as how it seems pretty dark for a movie in the X-Men line of films:

Bonus: Men in Black: International

The original Men in Black was actually loosely based off a comic book series of the same name! Though this is a spin-off of the famous franchise, we’re excited to see what these new agents have to bring to the table.

It’s sure to be a delight for Marvel fans too, seeing as how Chris Hemsworth (Thor) and Tessa Thompson (Valkyrie) will be acting side by side once again in an action / sci-fi/ comedy film.

Personally, I can’t wait to catch all these on the big screen! Hopefully each movie lives up to the hype that they’ve received.
