The wait is finally over! At long last, winter has arrived in Singapore for the eighth and final season of the HBO’s Game of Thrones.

Awesome themed loot!

HBO Asia graciously invited us for a shindig they’ve put together for the Season Premiere of Game of Thrones. Held for fans and guests (and they awesomely invited us!) at the Capitol Theatre, the event was filled with an array of activities that entertained everybody before things kicked off into high gear with the screening of Season 8’s first episode.

Fans and guests turned up in force to support the much anticipated Season 8, with some dressing up as their favourite characters (armed with Valyrian steel!) to vie for the throne of best dressed.

White Walker General Patrick (third from the left) won the best dressed contest. He might not have been the most imposing, but he won the crowd over with his name.

Photo opportunities were aplenty with official Game of Thrones characters, set-ups, House Banners and of course the Iron Throne.

Guests also got to taste and enjoy limited edition whiskies and cocktails like “White Walker” by Johnnie Walker, “Old Gold Fashioned” Lagavulin 16 Single Malt Scotch and “Golden Rose” Clynelish 14 Single Malt Scotch.  

A total of eight single malts Scotch whiskies were made to commemorate the eighth and final season of Game of Thrones.

Urban Decay was also on site to provide guests with their Urban Decay X Game of Thrones cosmetics and touch ups fit for the event.

Whether you are supporting House Stark, House Lannister, House Targaryen or even the White Walkers, there was a shade or shimmer perfect to reflect your allegiance.

The highlight of the night was of course the screening of the Season’s Premiere episode of Game of Thrones in the Capitol Theatre.

Before that though, there was a costume contest (won by White Walker General Patrick) plus trivia quizzes for those who showed up. Yours truly didn’t manage to win a thing, but it wasn’t for lack of trying though.

When it was all said and done, there was ONE more final threat for attendees; a photo op with the man of the hour himself, the Night King!

These guys aren’t cosplayers, they’re official!

Don’t forget to catch to the final season of Game of Thrones. It’s shown via simulcast in Singapore at the same time as the United States every Monday at 9am (with an encore at 10pm), on HBO (StarHub TV Channel 601 and Singtel TV Channel 420), HBO On Demand (StarHub TV Channel 602, yellow button on Singtel TV remote control) and HBO Go (including on Toggle).
