If you’re a hardcore gamer, more than likely you’ll look down your nose at smartphone gamers. I understand completely, I find most mobile games are trash too. There are the standout ones here and there, but by large, the whole ecosystem is wash. Despite that, mobile games are a booming industry…that’s probably the reason why the new ROG Phone 5s and 5s Pro exist.

The new ROG flagships, the ROG Phone 5s and 5s Pro come packed with the latest and greatest hardware that’s tuned specifically for mobile gaming. Oh, they also look damn cool with the trademark ROG colors and sharp lines.

Here are the key points you need to know.

As you can probably guess, the ROG Phone 5s and 5s Pro doesn’t mess around when it comes to gaming hardware. That 18GB LPDDR5 RAM is nuts! It’s certainly overkill (for current games) but it’s overkill in the best way possible. While the phones share the same basic specs, the larger amount of RAM only exists in the Pro version of the device.

If you need that much RAM, you now know which of the phones you want. HINT: It’s the more expensive more.

Still not convinced and need more info?

Here are the main specs for the devices, along with their prices.

Unfortunately, the phones continue the disturbing trend of smartphones not supporting external storage. Sure, 512GB seems a lot but it’ll fill up quick with media after a few months. Not to mention games. Who has ever heard of a gamer with only one game? That’s completely ludicrous.

If you’re the type to want to see something in hand before you bite, you can get a look at the smartphones at the ROG Experience Store Bugis.

The phones are also available online at the ASUS store and all authorized retailers right now.
