The Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser resort has just added another item that most people will kill for.

Lightsabers.

Sure, there are replica lightsabers (like the Force FX series from Hasbro) and even aftermarket custom sabers, but a real life lightsaber that functions like they do in the movies? That’s unfortunately not here yet.

What is here (or will be soon enough) is a lightsaber that looks like it’s ripped straight from the movies!

Behold, Disney’s newest (and perhaps best) invention!

I don’t know how it works (and chances are Disney will not be revealing it any time soon) but that bad boy looks like the real deal doesn’t it?!

It glows, the blade extends from the hilt, there’s the familiar snap-hiss of the ignition. That’s the holy trinity for those who collect lightsabers! Hell, I only have Luke Skywalker’s Force FX replica saber and I really want this!

Unfortunately, with the good news, comes a ton of bad.

First, it’ll only be shown in real life in 2022, and only at the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser themed hotel. That means you’re going to have to make the trip to the US next year (provided it’s even possible with COVID-19 raging all over) and get a reservation to one of the world’s most sought after hotels. Yeah…good luck with that…or rather, may the Force be with you.

The second piece of bad news is perhaps the worst.

Brace yourself, this is going to really hurt.

There are no currently no plans to have these lightsabers go on sale. Instead, they’ll be used exclusively by the actors in the Galactic Starcruiser resort (and I assume in Galaxy’s Edge too).

Oh yeah, that stings doesn’t it? To be so close to having a real life lightsaber only to be denied because you’re not working in a Disney park as a Jedi/ Sith.

You know what needs to be done, don’t you?

Yup, it’s time to try to get a job as Kylo Ren at the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser resort.

Or if you’re lazy like me…go play more of Vader Immortal.
