Xiaomi’s meteoric rise to prominence was one of the bigger success stories from the last decade. From humble beginning, the company’s now one of the largest Chinese electronic companies. Their array of products range from humble power banks to ultra high-end smartphones like the Mi 10T series.
Coincidentally (ok, maybe not), that’s exactly what this post is about! We were lucky enough to be invited to the local launch event for the Mi 10T and 10Pro!
We had the honour of joining Mr Yap Kian Kee, the head of sales for Xiaomi Singapore, at the Mi 10T Series Singapore launch event. Held at the J W Marriot Hotel Singapore South Beach, it was an extravagantly dazzling affair.

With the hashtag #Poweryourcreativity, a lot of emphasis was on how to ensure that the users of the Mi 10T Series are able to fulfil their user’s creative potential without being limited by their handphone’s capability.

Here’s a look at the specs for the Mi 10T and the Mi 10T Pro.

Here’s a fascinating (and horrifying) piece of trivia; smartphones are at least 10 times dirtier than a toilet seat. Let that sink in for a moment…Ewwwww, right?
Something that Xiaomi had done to protect the consumers during this pandemic to combat that is to incorporate a special silver ion Ag+ layer on the Mi 10T Series which is TUV SUD certified to remove 99% of Bacteria.
We’re not saying that you should be going around licking the Mi 10T phones…but if you do, chances are you’ll be better off licking them than any other device.
The Mi 10T 5G retails for SG$649 and the Mi 10T Pro 5G going for SG$749 available at all major telco, authorized Mi stores and online retailers like Lazada, Q10 and Shopee.

Xiaomi is known as the leading IoT player with over 132 million connected devices and counting.
A surprise for today’s event is the announcement of 2 other Xiaomi products. One’s the Mi Watch which will be launching in December 2020.

The other’s the Mi Smart Speaker which will be retailing at SG$79.90, though we’re unsure when it’s coming. It’s coming soon though, so it could already be heading to stores as of this writing.

All in all, Xiaomi held a very cool event, especially in the light of the ongoing COVID-19 restrictions. The fact they were able to make everything flow smoothly was impressive…but it was nothing compared to the tech they showed off.
If you’re anything like us, then you probably can’t wait to test out the new phones! Luckily we have great news on that front! Xiaomi’s awesomely provided us with a review unit of the Mi 10T Pro 5G so expect a review of it very soon!
