Rest in Power, King Chadwick Boseman.

Yesterday, I woke up in the morning groggy and late to start my work life as usual. There was nothing new or unique, just a standard routine to most of us to get through life. However, life has never been that simple, and it certainly wasn’t on that day. We were all reminded by how fleeting life and time honestly was, once again. 2020, is going to be remembered as the year of lessons.

As I looked at my phone in the morning, the newsfeed displayed that Chadwick Boseman had passed on, and I felt empty like I had been stuck in a dream, unsure of realities. It took me a few mins to realize that it was all true; the King had fallen. It was so shocking and surreal; that I went on to search for more information regarding it. I had to confirm it, although I knew it was true.

Chadwick Boseman: A Legend

For the last four years, Chadwick Boseman had been battling with colon cancer. During this time, he was busy fighting for his life while giving everything he had to his craft without sharing his condition with most people. The fact this man went on to become Black Panther and unite people all around the world without wanting pity for his condition, makes me admire him more than already I do.

The saying, ‘One person can make a difference’ always seemed so unrealistic to me. Yet, Chadwick Boseman is proof that it is possible. The loss of a talented actor, a humble warrior and exceptional human being; is rippling around the world. The man has become a legend, with people from everywhere writing personal messages and making tributes on their social media to honour him.

Chadwick Boseman proved that you don’t need to be born as a King to become a King.
