Opinions are like butts; everybody’s got one. So, with all the hubbub around the PS5 launch date, I thought I’d chime in with my own predictions.
So here it is; the PS5 launch date will be in Early November. Why that particular date? Let me lay it out for you with 3 reasons.
1 – Black Friday is end November.
There’s no way either Sony or Microsoft will let the holiday pass by without wanting to claim a piece of the pie. The consoles won’t be discounted, but chances are US retailers will have a ton of bundles for the games. During the PS4 launch, Amazon had an amazing promo; buy 3 PS4 games, get 1 free. Expect this year to have similarly great deals.
2 – November is the holiday sweet spot.
What comes after Black Friday? Christmas. It’s the one-two shopping combo! The PS5 launch date will be in early November for that very reason. Taking advantage of Black Friday, Cyber Monday and then finally, the rush to Christmas. This year is going to be an awesome time to be a console gamer…provided of course you manage to get a system.
3 – Spider-man: Miles Morales.
Sony’s current biggest gun. The new Spider-man game is set for a Holiday 2020 release. You know what else is set for the same time? The PS5 launch window. It’s easy to see that Sony’s going to want Spider-man in its corner right out of the gate. Since game releases tend to peak in late October – early November, Spidey’s release date is pretty much synonymous with the PS5 launch date; Early November. Will Ghost of Tsushima have an enhanced PS5 version as rumored? We wouldn’t be surprised at all. Assassin’s Creed Valhalla will almost certainly be a launch title, just like Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag was in 2013.
So there you have it, our guess for when the PS5 will launch. If I have to give a concrete date? I’m betting it’ll either be November 6 or 13. Now let’s see if I’m right!
