You know a game has to be monumentally reviled to get this kind of action from a publisher. We’re reserving our judgment on it (waiting for a key from Blizzard) but the word on street is that the remaster is not good…gameplay’s fine though, since it’s basically untouched.

Ironically, this case that’s not what people cared about.

Seems like most feel there have been shenanigans going on, with a half-assed remaster of a much beloved classic. Some promised features didn’t turn out as expected, or were cut out completely, leading to gamers feeling shafted.

VERY shafted.

Here’s a look at the game’s Metacritic page. A word of warning…it’s not pretty.

61 Metascore and a 0.5 User Score! Holy crap that’s bad! Unthinkable even a decade or so ago for a Blizzard game!

I never thought I’d see the day a Blizzard release would get a 0.5 User Score on Metacritic. It’s understandable though…Reforged was billed as a contemporary update to the venerable Warcraft III (and its Frozen Throne expansion).

It’s already a tricky matter to remaster a beloved classic…but when you promise features that you show off in demos yet don’t make it into the final game? Well, that’s when the rabid Warcraft fanbase will get you.

So rabid they even made a site to extol the ‘virtues’ of the remaster.

Yeaaaaaaaah…not good.

If you’re one of the millions who bought the game and want a refund, hit up this Battle.net link to get the process started.

You have to wonder though. If Blizzard can screw up their beloved Warcraft this badly…how potentially bad will Overwatch 2 and Diablo 4 be when they come out?!
