Great news, Sabrina fans! Netflix’s Chilling Adventures of Sabrina will be getting a third season and according to creator and showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, Sabrina Spellman (Kiernan Shipka) and her crew would be “going to Hell”.

He told TheWrap, “I think it’s safe to say that we are going to Hell, yes. It’s very fun. It’s very fun. It’s dangerous, but it’s really fun.”

*Spoiler alert*

As you know from Season 2, it ended with the Dark Lord destroying the Acheron Configuration which forced Sabrina’s boyfriend Nicholas “Nick” Scratch (Gavin Leatherwood) to sacrifice his body as a vessel to imprison the Dark Lord. Sabrina and her mortal friends planned to save Nick from Hell.

If you haven’t seen any of the episodes of this supernatural horror series, this is the perfect time to catch up. Aguirre-Sacasa said that they’re about halfway through production: “We are writing Episode 8, we are starting to shoot Episode 6, so we’re nearing the halfway mark. And that’s been going great, I’m really proud of those episodes, they’re really, really fun.”

Despite that, he’s not sure if they’d be ready for a Halloween launch this time, like with Season 1 last year.

Nonetheless, it’s exciting to see how the new season would pan out. Despite the initial criticism the show had received when compared to the more light-hearted 1996 TV series called Sabrina the Teenage Witch, the series has since met with generally positive reviews.

Aguirre-Sacasa is also the showrunner for The CW’s Riverdale so because the characters on both shows are based on the Archie comic books, fans want to know if there’ll be a crossover sometime down the line. When asked, Aguirre-Sacasa didn’t say never but he hasn’t planned anything yet. So there’s a possibility, but don’t hold your breath!
