The show that started DC’s Arrowverse is reaching its end this October and if you’re as impatient as we are, then fret not. San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC) has come to save us with the first trailer of Arrow’s final season, which was released during the CW’s Arrow panel. If you’ve missed it, you can watch it below.

The trailer itself mostly consists of scenes from previous seasons to remind us of the journey that has led the protagonist, Oliver Queen, thus far. However, in the last 15 seconds or so of the trailer, we get a few surprises of what’s coming and damn it has gotten us excited!

So let’s break it down:

  • The return of Deathstroke – This scene clearly shows that Deathstroke is fighting with Connor Hawke and if you’ve been watching the show regularly then you’ll know it’s taking place in the future. The one under the mask is John Diggle Jr who is the current leader of the Deathstroke Gang (The Deathstroke Clan sounds so much better, doesn’t it?) and he’s being played by Charlie Barnett in this season.
  • Tommy Merlyn is alive! Well kinda… – There’s been a lot of theories as to if Tommy was actually still alive after season 1 or if he had taken the role of the Spectre thus allowing him to visit Oliver during his “hallucinations” but I’m going with he’s dead and gone. I believe this Tommy is from another earth that Oliver is recruiting from for his Crisis showdown.
  • New suits – John Diggle aka Spartan and Laurel Lance aka Black Canary are shown donning their new costumes in this trailer. Spartan is sporting a new colour scheme of green instead of his usual red which makes me wonder if he’s going to be featured as a different character from one of the other earth since it’s already been hinted that he is indeed John Stewart of the Green Lanterns during the previous crossover. Black Canary is looking amazing in her new suit that features fishnets and an all-new yellow colour scheme which reminds me of her character design from the Injustice 2 game.
  • Adrian Chase is back as a Green Arrow? – Adrian Chase aka Prometheus, the big bad of season 5 who shot himself in the head is back. It’s not clear but it looks like he’s back as another version of the Green Arrow from one of the other earth and is possibly being recruited by Oliver as well. That’s going to be an interesting conversation.

The trailer has raised a lot more questions than it has answered but one thing is certain that this season and the build-up to the crossover seems to be DC’s version of the Endgame and I’m ready for it!
