I’m as surprised as you are at this.
Now don’t get me wrong, I’m ALL IN for a superhero horror movie (especially if it deal with eldritch horror) but I’d have thought that the New Mutants (another Marvel horror movie) would’ve been released way before Dr Strange in the Multiverse of Madness hits the silver screen.

It’s a bit sad to see that we might not get to see that movie at all, but it’s not surprising given the rumors of how crappy it is and the extensive reshoots (which have yet to be done if rumors are to be believed) for the movie.
Marvel still plans to release the movie though if their claims are to be believed, but we’ll see.
So what do we know about Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness? Quite a bit actually for a movie that’s only set to debut in 2021.
It’s after Endgame (duh!), and will feature the Scarlet Witch in some capacity.
WandaVision, the Disney Plus exclusive Marvel series, will apparently be a sort of prelude to the movie, with the series’ events directly leading up to the Multiverse of Madness.
The inclusion of the Multiverse is also Marvel’s first acknowledgement that there’s a multiverse out there. Yes, it’s mentioned in Spider-Man: Far from Home, but if you’ve watched the movie, you’d know that was just a red herring. THIS is the real deal.
As a comic fan, this is REALLY interesting because it opens up a ton of possibilities for the MCU; namely the Cancerverse and Marvel Zombies.

I’ve been harping for years now that I’d love to see the Avengers go up against the Revengers and this might actually result in that years down the road.
While Marvel Zombies isn’t the same universe as the Cancerverse, it’s also another interesting horror universe that Marvel can tap. I mean, who doesn’t want to see our favourite superheroes as zombies?

Might be a bit traumatic for the kiddies to see Giant Man get eaten alive by the rest of the Avengers, but hey, that’s what an R rating is for, right?
While the Multiverse of Madness will have Nightmare as its main villain, I hope that it teases all the other exciting horror-verses that Marvel can tap into.
Hopefully, this all leads up to a Midnight Sons movie. One can only dream…
