This week, WWE is searching for their next Superstar in a tryout camp in Shanghai, China. 40 athletes, 30 of which are men and 10 women, were scouted across China and Southeast Asia. And 3 of them are our very own Singapore pro wrestlers.
Representing Singapore Pro Wrestling (SPW), they are “The Statement” Andruew Tang, Trexxus and Alexis Lee.

The Statement is the current SPW Southeast Asia champion and also the co-founder of SPW. He has wrestled the likes of OWE’s Cima, former NXT wrestler Ho Ho Lun, former WWE UK Champion Pete Dunne and former WWE Tag Team Champion Rene Dupree.

Trexxus is The Statement’s protege and together, they’re known as Onslaught. They’ve battled with the team of Cima and Dragon Gate’s Big R Shimizu at an SPW event in 2017. By himself, Trexxus is a former champion himself and has faced WWE CWC’s Jason Lee and former DDT Pro wrestler Masa Takanashi.
Check out his interview with WWE NXT:
And then there’s Alexis Lee, hailed as Singapore’s first female pro wrestler. She’s had matches with Japanese veteran Emi Sakura, Indi Hartwell and fellow tryout participant, Crystal. She and Crystal have had numerous matches together in SPW and PWR events as they are rivals. Lee also has competed in Australia and United States.

Some of the current NXT wrestlers also help to coach at the tryout. Here’s what Reina Gonzalez and Xia Lee said about the tryout talents:
Sounds like it’s a gruelling time at the tryout for all talents. Here’s wishing our fellow Singaporeans and the rest of the participants all the best!
