Soundbars – More than meets the eye
No, I don’t mean that they transform or anything. Samsung touts that their flagship soundbars, the HW-Q70R and HW-Q60R are Harman-Kardon certified and come with certain smart technologies that will boost the listening experience of the user. Their adaptive sound technology allows the soundbar to analyse the current content on the screen and automatically detect the optimum sound settings for any given scene. A demo was shown using this technology in a football match telecast, where the cheers from the crowd and commentary was automatically boosted when turning on the feature.
These soundbars are also equipped with Dolby Atmos and DTS:X features that people have come to expect from a high-end model. As a part of Acoustic Beam technology, a spokesperson from Samsung has also told us that the soundbars will come with a feature that automatically adjusts the sound in relation to the physical dimension of the room, ensuring smooth, even playback which would (hopefully) cancel out or diminish any reverbs that could affect sound quality.
